Introduction

In May of 2003, Mara and I had just returned from our honeymoon and decided to buy her a bicycle. When we got back home from the bike shop, I took the bike for a test drive (in the garage) from the car to the back door. Total distance was about 10 meters.

The brakes were stronger than I expected. I flipped the bike, ending up on the floor, bleeding from the head. (There are still stains). Mara called an ambulance and we went to the hospital. By then I realized my arm was hurt pretty bad.

While we were at the hospital, the bike got stolen.

Turned out I had broken my wrist and torn a ligament in my elbow. I came home with a plaster reaching to my shoulder, a pretty bad headache, and a new appreciation for how much French I had learned in the last year.

These are the pictures from my recovery...
